The Sear Story
Sear Steakhouse was only a vision for many years. Prior to opening, our building was previously used for the Loizides’ Family first business in the area, K’Syrah Catering and Events. The global pandemic we found ourselves in, allowed for the space to be reimagined to fulfill their dream. They had a vision of rebuilding the rustic space in Downtown Solvang into an elevated and genuine “farm to table” model steakhouse for the local community.
Demetrios Loizides and his wife Karen were captivated by the Santa Ynez Valley and the similarities of Demetrios’ parents childhood village in Paphos, Cypress. They purchased a farm and planted 100+ varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
When the Loizides family met a well-traveled chef-turned-mixologist, Alberto Battaglini, a partnership formed that would bring their steakhouse dream to fruition.
The right people, talent, and timing united with quality own-farmed produce from the family farm to establish what is known as Sear Steakhouse.
